Job Summary

As Associate you will provide guidance, instruction and direction to the China Team to ensure high quality Due Diligence reports are produced. You will also develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help build the Professional Services business.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Associates begin to develop specialized knowledge and manage a significant portion of a due diligence or client driven project. As an associate you will work closely with Senior Associates to develop deep understanding of due diligence, research, analysis, data gathering, interviewing, legal, risk & compliance issues, budgeting, time management, communication with customers, and writing skills.
  • As an associate, you will be challenged to develop firsthand knowledge of clients’ critical business issues, building client-management, problem-solving, and communications skills.
  • You will be given ownership of significant segments of complex client projects, as well as responsibility for simpler projects.
  • You will be responsible for managing researchers and external parties and the costs in managing those companies.
  • Associates can be entry level positions for University degree holders (with Honours) from recognised Universities in the areas of law, accounting, journalism, business or commerce; you will have strong communication and analysis skills and the ability to work in a complex ever changing environment.
  • Associates require an excellent standard of verbal and written English as well as Mandarin

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to University degree level
  • Mandarin speaking required; Familiar to China jurisdiction recommended
  • Previous experience in supporting, training and mentoring a team
  • Excellent writing and analysis skills, including the ability to summarise complex information clearly and concisely from another language into English
  • Strong research skills, including online search tools
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills – prior experience in research/editorial roles is preferable
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlinesand handle large volumes of work
  • Be a team player with a high level of initiative and proactive approach to work
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and issues
  • Knowledge of and interest in international affairs
