Job Summary

Reporting to the eLearning Product Director, we are seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead our development and quality assurance team in Hong Kong as they develop our revolutionary new training system, Compliance Interactive®. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Oversee entire development process and life-cycle including the project scoping, technical roadmap, implementation, documentation and technical support
  • Manages and prioritizes the work load of Development and Quality Assurance Team and ensures deliverables are on time and within budget
  • Working collaboratively with technology leadership and software architects, ensures the consistency and maintainability of IT policies and product development practices
  • Conduct code review and ensure good design, code quality and ensure the implementation is fit for purpose and no misunderstanding of the requirements
  • Responsible for Release Management, distribution of release notes, coordination with for the performance, availability and scalability of the application in coordination with the development operations team
  • Oversee automated testing strategy with reasonable amount of code coverage
  • Respond to RFPs and join client calls or meetings as required
  • Provide weekly reporting to the CTO and Product Director on all aspects of the product development and operation.
  • Coordinate with the relevant individuals in the Governance team, to ensure that the quality of the product and deployments are compliant with internal and external standards.
  • Manage technical vendors

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in relevant working experience software development industry
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concept, design patterns, and Web Services (REST APIs).
  • Experience with Java programming and database skills are preferred
  • Familiar with front-end development using HTML5, CSS3 and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Experience with learning management system development preferred
  • Degree holder in computer science, software engineering or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills is required, native English is a plus
  • Must be self-motivated and have excellent communication and human relations skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy
  • Must be able to work under pressure while meeting project deadlines and managing multiple projects
  • Ability to work in a global, highly challenging, fast-paced, and changing environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours.  Some international travel (up to 20%)
